Take stock of what you're grateful for and write a "Gratitude List".

Sometimes in the midst of a busy life, we forget the most important things.

Have you ever been fully aware of gratitude? It can be an overwhelming powerful feeling to be filled with gratitude. It can be such a strong feeling that even anxiety can't compete with it. It's a feeling of being full of love and thankfulness for being alive. You may find you have more things to be thankful for than not.

What are you grateful for?
Start a journal, it can help you see if your worries and fears a valid or not, and it can break the habit of negative self-talk.

Too much stuff and clutter around you? - If in doubt – throw it out. A physical clean-out, acts as a mental clean-out; it's very liberating.

If you can't sort out a problem, speak to your partner, friend, counsellor or support group. It helps to get a different perspective on your situation and get it off your chest.

Adopting mind management means choosing to be responsible, creative and active. It's not enough to say; I will change tomorrow. We have no power over tomorrow. Acknowledging that one has only real power in the present is essential.

The power is in the present, which means Act Now. We may have good intentions but remain powerless unless we implement them. The point of change has to be now; this is where the power is. - If you are unhappy or poor today, you will be unhappy or poor tomorrow, unless you change something and act on it.

Why not start a Graditude List right now?

* *  *

There is nothing wrong with us.

We are all perfect but contaminated with thought pollution. We have been conditioned and sucked into all kinds of marketing, information and beliefs sprouted by the media, the Internet, politics, or religion for their benefit. Most of the thought contamination happened way back in our childhood and education.

We grew up with the rule: "Do as you are told." The information we take in as a child, we take as truth without being able to fact-check. Many of our so-called truths came through misunderstandings and by adopting the values and beliefs of our parents, families, teachers, societies, cultures, religions, ideologies, books, magazines, TV, the Internet, social media, and everything around us.

Exploring a victim mentality and a mindset overwhelmed by stress, worries, and anxieties helps to remind us we may have forgotten about gratitude and other common destructive denominators discussed in the next chapter.

Start a Graditude List now:

  1. Add the Graditude List to your Jjournal
  2. Start with, I am grateful for being alive
  3. Each day, think of three new things you're thankful for
  4. Thank someone you haven't thanked before.
  5. More Graditude means greater Happiness
  6. Deep gratitude means commiting to putting priority on the relationships in our lives.
  7. Gratitude helps you feel more positive, enjoy good experiences, improve health, efficiently deal with adversity, and build strong relationships.
